BRAND & PRODUCT

About the brand and product

WORKERS Yama-Poke Work Shirt, Blue Moku Chambray

WORKERS is a menswear manufacturer based in Okayama. Centered on workwear, traditional clothing, and military wear, the brand creates clothing through thorough research into vintage garments. Its representative personally studies actual vintage clothing, visiting the manufacturers of the period in which they were made and even existing buildings to research archival materials, then translates those findings through precise patternmaking into pieces that are easy to wear today.

A slightly luxurious work shirt, for the first time in a while.
Mountain pockets. They have a gusset (depth) large enough to hold cigarettes, and because both sides of the pocket slope downward, cigarettes are easy to grasp when taking them out. This somewhat forceful idea was even patented at the time.
In size 15, the chest measures approximately 60 cm, while the shoulder width is also 50 cm, providing a relaxed fit.
Because work shirts have no pleats on the back, they can feel constricting unless sufficient room is built into the chest and shoulders.
Blue-mélange chambray: “yorimoku” yarn made by twisting white and colored threads together in the weft. It has a distinctive color tone unlike combinations of solid-color yarns.

STAFF VOICE

A word from the staff

Ichimura / 175 cm / 75 kg / wearing size 16

For anyone who loves vintage workwear, this is an exceptionally luxurious piece, with craftsmanship that makes you want to examine even the smallest details.

Above all, the distinctive mountain-shaped pockets immediately catch the eye.

Details unique to old workwear like this are still genuinely cool today. Although the designs were born from practicality, they also have a certain decorative appeal that delights clothing enthusiasts.

Another appealing aspect is that, despite all these refined details, it retains a thoroughly rugged work-shirt character overall.

I’m also personally very fond of the blue-mélange chambray fabric used this time.

The deep, dimensional color is wonderfully different from ordinary chambray, and I think it will develop an even better character as you wear and wash it repeatedly.

With a shirt like this, of course you can appreciate the craftsmanship in the details, but I hope you won’t keep it tucked away too carefully and will wear it often in everyday life.

Personally, I prefer pairing it with faded denim and enjoying a thoroughly workwear-inspired look.

Of course, it pairs exceptionally well with chino pants and military trousers, but I also think it would be interesting to wear it with slightly dressier slacks to highlight the shirt’s ruggedness.

The silhouette has a comfortable amount of room, with a balance that naturally fits today’s mood.

It really captures the appeal of vintage while remaining easy to wear as modern clothing.

A piece packed with that unmistakable WORKERS character, and one that anyone who loves clothing should definitely try.
