WORKERS Yama-Poke Work Shirt, India Check
WORKERS is a men's clothing manufacturer based in Okayama. Centered on workwear, traditional clothing, and military styles, the brand creates garments through thorough research into vintage clothing. The founder personally studies actual vintage garments, visiting the manufacturers of the era in which they were made and surviving buildings to investigate their records, then translates his findings into pieces that are easy to wear today through meticulous patternmaking.
A slightly luxurious work shirt, for the first time in a while.
Mountain pocket. It has enough gusset depth to hold cigarettes, and because the sides of the pocket slope downward, cigarettes are easy to grasp when taking them out. This idea, which could be called somewhat forceful, was even patented at the time.
In size 15, the chest measures approximately 60 cm, with a relaxed shoulder width of 50 cm as well.
Because work shirts have no back pleats, the chest and shoulder widths need to be made sufficiently generous or the shirt will feel restrictive.
The India check is a fabric introduced by a familiar fabric shop in Madras, India.
The relaxed feel is somehow different from domestically made checks - in a way, it feels very R-like.
