About the brand and product

WORKERS M-65 Trousers Mod, OD Reversed Sateen
WORKERS is a menswear manufacturer based in Okayama. The brand crafts its clothing with a focus on workwear, traditional styles, and military pieces, born from a thorough exploration of vintage garments. The representative himself studies authentic vintage items, visiting the original manufacturers and even existing historical buildings to research archives, before translating these details into modern, wearable pieces through precise pattern work.

The M-65 is just the base pattern. I changed the front pockets to slanted pockets similar to those on chinos. The hem width is about 25 cm, which is quite wide. However, since military pants are supposed to be wide, it doesn't feel "too baggy." The M-65 pattern has no darts on the back, which is exactly why it was easy to remove the back pockets. They look similar at a glance, but the M-51 has darts. I’ve always loved the mismatch of pairing a shirt with military pants; in my youth, I used to do it with original surplus items. But as I’ve gotten older, originals are just too heavy! I intended to create "pragmatic military pants" by extracting only the core elements: the silhouette and the cargo pockets.
While making a version of the M-43/cargo pocket pants with front pockets for the Spring/Summer season, I realized: "If I add two pockets to a two-pocket design, I get four. So, what if I remove the back pockets from a six-pocket design to get four?" Yes, it’s a repeat performance—a "Let’s Twist Again, Let's Ondo Again" moment.
However, the reason I haven't been reaching for six-pocket pants as I age is because they are "heavy" and "feel bulky when worn." Since cargo pockets are there, a certain amount of bulk is unavoidable, but removing the back pockets makes them feel much cleaner and easier to wear. Although the base pattern is the M-65, I modified the front pockets to chino-style slanted ones. By removing the flaps, knee tucks, and hem drawstrings, I aimed to create "military pants you can wear with ease."
The material is 100% cotton reverse sateen. I considered using a cotton/nylon blend to match the M-65, but I decided against it, thinking, "This isn't a strict reproduction anyway," and prioritized the soft feel of 100% cotton and a color that isn't too dark or too light. The fact that I used military-style size labels just goes to show how much of a "replica generation" guy I am.
The denim version uses a fabric where the weft yarn has a brownish tint, giving it a dark, somber look. It’s a specification often seen in military denim; one theory suggests it's to "hide dirt," though the truth is unknown. Regardless, brown-back denim suits military designs perfectly.
The product has already been one-washed (OW).

I am wearing a size M.
WORKERS is popular because all of their pants have such great silhouettes, but personally, I think the refinement of their military pants is truly exceptional. From the detailed construction to the silhouette, they have a sense of elegance that makes them military pants suitable for adults.
They pair well with denim jackets, but what makes WORKERS' military pants so great is that they also look fantastic when paired with tailored jackets or leather shoes.
If you don't own a pair yet, I highly recommend you give them a try.
