WORKERS Lot 815 Work Pants, 12 oz, Grey Back Indigo Herringbone

WORKERS is an Okayama-based menswear manufacturer. Centered on workwear, trad, and military styles, the brand creates its garments through thorough exploration of vintage clothing. The representative himself studies actual vintage pieces, visiting original manufacturers and existing buildings to research archival materials, then translates these into designs that are easy to wear in modern times through precise pattern work.

It's like a pair of work pants, yet because it has a yoke, it's also like a pair of jeans. It is a "luxury work pant," a product of my imagination. When I was younger, I used to create these imaginative pieces of workwear—not quite a "direct vintage reproduction"—partly as practice.
The side seams, inseams, yoke, and seat seams are all triple-stitched lap-felled. Depending on the location, I switched between 9/32 gauge and the slightly wider 5/16 gauge.
This was inspired by my observation of vintage clothing, where I wondered, "Why does the needle gauge vary slightly depending on the maker, the model number, or the specific part?"
Basically, I use a wider gauge for thicker fabric and a narrower one for thinner sections. However, due to factory equipment limitations, vintage clothing didn't always have a set rule. What I once saw as inconsistent, I now see as a design element. This is my attempt to reproduce that vintage character through the limitations of the equipment.

The indigo herringbone has become a semi-staple over the past few seasons, but I wanted to add a little extra effort here. I wanted it thicker and heavier, and I wanted the herringbone pattern to be less visible in the one-wash state.
So, I increased the yarn thickness by one grade to achieve 12 ounces and used grey top yarn for the weft (the side visible on the inside). This creates a calmer tone where the herringbone pattern is even less visible from the front. The herringbone only truly begins to emerge after being broken in.
Because the grey top yarn is expensive, the fabric cost is surprisingly high. My apologies.
The product is one-washed.

While this is our highly popular indigo herringbone material, we have increased the yarn thickness compared to previous models, resulting in a 12-ounce fabric.

Additionally, the use of grey for the weft thread gives it a more subdued atmosphere.

In its new state, the herringbone pattern is subtle, but it will become clearly visible as it fades through wear.

This is a model that I am really looking forward to seeing age over time.

As for the silhouette, it is not overly wide; it maintains that clean, signature WORKERS silhouette despite being denim work pants.
