WORKERS Jay Jacket, VI Blue
WORKERS is a menswear manufacturer based in Okayama. Centered on workwear, traditional style, and military clothing, the brand creates garments through thorough research into vintage clothing. Its founder personally studies actual vintage garments, visits the manufacturers from the era in which they were made and even the buildings that still exist, researches the materials, and translates them into meticulously patterned pieces that are easy to wear today.
This is the main color!!! We tracked down the original fleece for this design and recreated its color from it.

This year, we made an entirely new model, the Jay Jacket. Since it is a hobby item, cost was no object. This is the first and last time.
That's right, the source material is JK's VI. In high school, I got Perfect TV because I wanted to watch Shinkansen on the Theatre Channel.
Installing the antenna myself in the rain, with a typhoon approaching, feels like yesterday.
And then, the shock of being able to watch MTV and seeing JK's VI for the first time. (The live performance at the MTV Music Awards was incredible too.)
That blue fleece I remembered for so long. We recreated it in sweatshirt fabric.
The color was probably taken from the vintage fleece used in the video. The shape is almost exactly the same as well: a roomy body and a thick collar that reaches up to the chin.
The cuffs are snugged with elastic piping, while the hem has an elastic drawcord and stopper. We also had the chest logo made by Okada Name, with the color scheme matched accordingly.
It has an extremely relaxed fit, so it can also be used as an outer layer in the middle of winter. The loopback fabric is vulnerable to wind, so we recommend it for short outings by car.

This is the jacket I had been looking forward to since seeing it at the exhibition. It recreates in sweatshirt fabric that fleece jacket worn in the music video for the nostalgic JK's VI.
It differs from the usual WORKERS items, but the concept is interesting, it is easy to use, and it makes you want one.
I think it will resonate with those who fondly remember that era.
