WORKERS 7 Button BD, Supima OX, Matilda Check
WORKERS is a menswear manufacturer based in Okayama. The brand creates clothing rooted in workwear, trad, and military styles, based on thorough research of vintage garments. The representative personally studies actual vintage pieces, visiting the original manufacturers and existing buildings to research materials, and then translates them into garments that are easy to wear in the modern day through meticulous pattern work.
Last year, we made a shirt featuring a 6-button front inspired by vintage button-downs, but this year we changed it to 7 buttons. We received feedback ranging from "6 buttons are just like the vintage ones, which is great!" to "The usual Modified 7-button is better because it doesn't show too much of the T-shirt." Since opinions vary, we went with 7 buttons "this year," with the same neck balance as the Modified BD. However, there are some differences from the Modified model.
The length is slightly longer. While the Modified is 75-76 cm, the 7-button is 78-79 cm. Those who prefer to tuck in their shirts mentioned that this length is ideal. Because it is longer, the hem curves up toward the sides at a steeper angle. This gives it the aesthetic often seen in vintage button-downs. Leaving the long hem untucked also creates a nice atmosphere in its own right.
The sleeves are wide and taper toward the cuffs.
The cuffs feature shirring, whereas the Modified has tucks.
The cuff buttons are placed very close to the sleeve.
The buttons are one size smaller than the Modified, and since this size isn't available as an off-the-shelf product in Japan, we had them custom-made. These are all subtle differences, but the overall vibe is quite classic. The wide sleeves alone make it feel relaxed to wear. Curiously, even though the collar stand is identical to the Modified, last year's 6-button, and this year's 7-button, the latter two feel roomier. The products are delivered non-washed (NW). As long as you don't put them in the dryer, the dimensions will hardly shrink at all.

This is the seasonal model of the button-down shirt that continues to be made as a staple item. It’s updated slightly every year according to a theme, but it remains a very user-friendly model with many fans. This season’s model is also truly excellent.
The unique colors and patterns are also fantastic. Please be sure to get your hands on one.
