TOWNCRAFT was established in 1927 as a derivative brand of J.C. Penney.It is one of J.C. Penney’s representative store brands, standing alongside names like BIG MAC and PAY-DAY.Unlike the workwear brands of the time, TOWNCRAFT from the 50s to the 70s placed importance on new materials, decoration, and design, symbolizing the good old days of mass-produced America.We have learned the splendor and depth of clothing from vintage garments, and based on those design sources, we are previewing and developing TOWNCRAFT for the modern day with a focus on more comfortable and wearable clothing.

Based on archived American vintage shirts from the 1980s and 90s,we have recreated a solid black shirt, which is particularly rare among rayon shirts from that era.
The loose, oversized silhouette perfectly matches the atmosphere of the material.
It is a finished rayon shirt that feels both vintage and culturally evocative.
