About the brand and product

SUGAR CANE SC41947 / 14.25oz. DENIM 1947 MODEL (REGULAR STRAIGHT)
SUGAR CANE. Bearing a name that sounds quintessentially American, this brand was actually the first in Japan to be established as a postwar clothing manufacturer catering to the U.S. market.
TOYO ENTERPRISE COMPANY LTD., the creator of Sugar Cane, was founded in 1965 in the wake of the U.S. military’s full-scale intervention in the Vietnam War, originally serving personnel at U.S. military bases in Japan.
Initially, the company manufactured apparel for the U.S. military while also acting as a channel for distributing U.S. military surplus domestically. Following the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, the company transformed into a full-fledged domestic apparel manufacturer. At that time, it was named "SUGARCANE" by an officer stationed at a U.S. military base.
Although born in Japan, Sugar Cane grew up in the environment of U.S. military bases, and both its spirit and manufacturing know-how were acquired from America. From then until the present, the brand has continued to produce authentic workwear centered on denim—the very symbol of American style.

The "1947 Model" is Sugar Cane’s masterpiece, faithfully reproducing the luxurious details found in jeans from the late 1940s. Based on vintage denim, the brand meticulously oversees every step—spinning, dyeing, weaving, and sewing—to create a pair truly worthy of the name "STANDARD DENIM." The silhouette is a regular straight.

STANDARD DENIM
A masterpiece that reproduces vintage denim through obsessive attention to every process—spinning, dyeing, weaving, and sewing—resulting in a pair long-loved by many and produced as a classic staple. This is the true definition of "STANDARD."

This is the pair that defines the brand, and it is a wonderful pair of jeans that I definitely think everyone should try at least once.
