Sanders is a prestigious British footwear brand established in 1873 in Rushden, Northamptonshire, England. Most of the leather shoes supplied to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) are made by Sanders, with approximately 50% of the factory's production lines dedicated to these orders. As a result, the brand is able to produce traditional "Made in England" shoes with excellent cost-performance, utilizing the same manufacturing processes and natural materials as other Northampton manufacturers while keeping production costs down. Today, the company employs over 90 skilled craftsmen and produces OEM goods for renowned brands such as Gieves & Hawkes, Marcel Lassance, A.P.C., and Ralph Lauren, while also focusing on its original "Sanders" collection. By applying unique refinements to their Goodyear-welted shoes—which can sometimes appear stiff, heavy, and rugged—they create practical footwear that looks classic but feels light, soft, and comfortable to wear.

The upper is made of polished leather. It has a glossy finish that is resistant to scratches and stains; you can maintain its luster by brushing it and then polishing it with a soft cloth dampened with a little water. Because they are easy to care for, these are also recommended for those new to leather shoes. The luxurious leather used is calfskin, tanned from the hide of calves less than six months old. Known as the highest grade of cowhide, it is prized for its fine grain, glossy finish, and supple, soft texture. While the shoes have the substantial feel typical of sturdy British footwear, they are surprisingly light and offer exceptional comfort when worn.
