The brand name "melple" is a coined term derived from "mellow people."
It draws inspiration from the mellow, laid-back atmosphere of California and the people who lead rich, fulfilling lifestyles.
Influenced by this culture, the brand proposes a "Modern Vintage Style" that reflects these influences in its craftsmanship.
Rather than simply recreating vintage archives, melple interprets constantly evolving cultures and styles with its own unique sensibility.

This piece features ringer-style cuffs and hem, giving it a feel that sits somewhere between a long-sleeve tee and a sweatshirt.
It is the latest addition to "The American" series, reconstructed with the image of heavy-weight T-shirts made in the USA in the 80s to early 90s.
With its relaxed fit, it makes a statement even when worn on its own.
To replicate the unique, coarse texture found in American-made T-shirts of that era, extra-thick (10 count) open-end yarn is used.
The fabric is a high-density jersey knit, woven at 22 gauge instead of the standard 18 gauge, providing a reassuring sense of firmness and substance.
It features "The American" washable leather patch on the back.
Finished with a small triangular brand tag on the left hem.

I am wearing a size L, which gives a moderately relaxed fit.

It has a fantastic silhouette and great vibe when worn on its own, and it's perfect as an inner layer for jackets during the autumn and winter seasons. It’s a piece I reach for year-round, excluding the height of summer, and I consider it one of melple's true masterpieces from the last few years.
