BRAND & PRODUCT

About the brand and product

John Gluckow ジョンクラッコー JG-BD01 Sailor's Kerchief Navy

Since its founding in 1995, the brand 【WAREHOUSE】 has pursued the theme of faithfully reproducing vintage clothing. We examine the historical context of the era in which each vintage garment we encounter was produced, then thoroughly research and reproduce everything from the individual threads to the fabric, sewing, and washing processes.
WAREHOUSE clothing is not designer-brand clothing.
Just as designers' names are not left on the workwear and everyday clothing of that era, we believe that clothing is appealing precisely because it is impossible to know who made it.

John Gluckow
Born in New Jersey, USA. He began dealing in vintage clothing while studying at Princeton University. After graduating, he joined Ralph Lauren. While working to uncover vintage pieces, he also made his mark in planning and design. He went independent and founded Strongarm C&S Co., and is now active as one of the world's leading vintage dealers.

This simple bandana features an anchor pattern along the edge, with an appealing nautical style that pairs exceptionally well with chambray and denim.

A word from the staff

It has long been one of my personal favorite items, and I especially like the classic atmosphere of John Gluckow's Sailor's Kerchief.

What I particularly like is the anchor motif decorating the edge.

Rather than a strongly assertive design that is unmistakably nautical, I like the subtle atmosphere that evokes the sea.

Patterns that blend with this kind of traditional American casual style never become tiresome, no matter how many years pass.

And above all, I think the appeal of a bandana lies in the freedom of how you can use it.

Personally, I recommend casually tying it around the neck of a chambray shirt or denim jacket. Even pairing it with a plain T-shirt can make your usual outfit feel a little fresher.

Of course, rather than simply wearing it around your neck, you can also let a little peek out of your pants pocket or tie it to a bag.

I think it looks great to keep one in your pocket and use it in place of a handkerchief.

Accessories like this do not create as dramatic a change as clothing, but adding just one can change the overall atmosphere, which is what makes them interesting.

Besides, personally, I like bandanas best when they have been well used and have become slightly worn.

After being washed many times and becoming softer, with natural wrinkles beginning to appear, it should take on an atmosphere that feels even more like your own possession.

Compared with clothing, these are easygoing items to incorporate, but I think taking care with small details like this is part of the joy of enjoying clothes.

I want to add just a little change to my usual denim or shirt.

This is a piece I highly recommend picking up for moments like that.
