jacou products are born from a commitment to meticulous detail.
Rather than focusing on design, the pursuit of every single detail becomes the design itself.
It is in every stitch of thread and every stroke of the file. Before being a designer, I want to be a craftsman.

"Everything is Repeated as a Matter of Course"
Everything is born from the hands of one person: Kazuyoshi Tauchi.
From the moment the leather is cut to the instant the final ribbon is tied on the package, the laborious work is repeated day after day.
Ironically, like the machines that contrast it, the finish is precise and uniform.
This foundation stems from the experience gained through crafting bespoke shoes.
My mentor's favorite phrase was "piano, piano" (slowly, slowly).
Like a rhythm being etched, pieces are still made today using the same methods as 100 years ago.

"Materials That Remain Alluring Over Time"
One of the charms of leather goods is aging. Both people and objects change with the passage of time.
Whether that is perceived as deterioration or growth depends on the essence of the object. There are many types and qualities of leather, each with its own way of changing.
jacou uses vegetable-tanned leather made through the historic Vacchetta process.
Among these, we carefully select leathers that have not been overly processed, preserving their original, inherent quality.
A natural touch and texture—that is what jacou considers to be "leather with the true essence of leather."

"JA502 (reel bag tall)"
Based on our JF804 (fly reel bag) designed for fly fishing reels, this piece has been reborn as a user-friendly drawstring bag by using supple, milled leather, swapping the mouton on the inner base for suede, and increasing the capacity.
It can hold a smartphone and a small wallet, so it can also be used as a drawstring bag for daily life.

The Civet cat logo is gold-foil stamped on the front.
The hardware is made of brass. Like the leather, you can enjoy its aging process.
This leather, with its exceptionally natural feel, allows you to enjoy how it gains luster and deepens in color the more you use it.
