jacou products are born from a accumulation of meticulous attention to detail.
We do not focus on design; instead, the pursuit of every single detail becomes the design.
It is a single stitch of thread, a single polish with a file. Before being designers, we want to be craftsmen.

"Everything is Repeated as a Matter of Course"
Everything is born from the hands of one man: Kazuyoshi Tauchi.
From cutting the leather to tying the final packaging ribbon, the work is repeated daily, sparing no effort.
Ironically, the result is precise and uniform, just like the machines that contrast with it.
The origin of this lies in nothing other than the experience accumulated from bespoke shoemaking.
My mentor's favorite phrase was "piano, piano" (slowly, slowly).
Marking the rhythm with those words, the products are made today using the same methods as they were 100 years ago.

"Materials That Enchant Over Time"
One of the charms of leather goods is aging. Both people and objects change with the passage of time.
Whether you perceive that as deterioration or growth depends on the essence of the object. There are many types and properties of leather, and their changes vary.
jacou uses vegetable-tanned leather made using the historic Vacchetta process.
We carefully select leather that has not been overly "dressed up," preserving the inherent goodness of the hide.
A natural feel and texture—that is what jacou considers to be "leather with the true essence of leather."

"JA502 (reel bag tall)"
This item was reborn as a user-friendly drawstring bag by taking our JF804 (fly reel bag)—originally designed for fly fishing reels—using soft, milled leather, replacing the sheepskin lining on the inner bottom with suede, and increasing its capacity.
It can hold a smartphone and a small wallet, so it can also be used as a drawstring bag for daily use.

The Civet cat logo is gold-foil stamped on the front of the body.
The metal fittings are made of brass. Like the leather, you can enjoy its aging process.
With its natural feel, this leather allows you to enjoy how its luster and deep color increase the more you use it.
