"An Accumulation of Meticulous Craftsmanship" jacou products are created through the accumulation of a devotion to detail. We do not focus on design; rather, the pursuit of each individual detail becomes the design itself. It is in a single stitch of thread, and a single stroke of a file. Before being a designer, I want to be a craftsman.
"Everything is Repeated as a Matter of Course" Everything is born from the hands of one man: Kazuyoshi Tauchi. From the cutting of the leather to the moment the final package ribbon is tied, the laborious work is simply repeated every day. Ironically, it is as accurate and uniform as if made by a machine. The origin of this lies in the experience gained from years of making bespoke shoes. My mentor's favorite phrase was "piano, piano" (slowly, slowly). Like a rhythm being etched, these items are made today using the same methods as 100 years ago.
"Materials That Remain Alluring Over Time" One of the charms of leather goods is aging. Both people and objects change with the passage of time. Whether you perceive this as deterioration or growth depends on the essence of the object. Leather also has many types and properties, and its transformation varies accordingly. The leather jacou uses is vegetable-tanned leather made using the historic vacchetta process. Among these, we carefully select only those that have not been heavily processed, preserving the natural quality of the hide. The natural touch and texture are exactly what jacou considers to be "leather that offers the true pleasure of leather."
"JK305 ( key pouch )" A pouch-style key case. You can organize your keys on the hook at the end of the braided leather cord inside, and attach it to a belt loop or bag handle using the exterior metal fitting. The Civet cat logo is gold-foil stamped on the front, and the brand name in cursive script is on the inside. The hardware is made of brass. Like the leather, it can be enjoyed as it ages.
