This shirt jacket is made from substantial, heavyweight wool melton. It features flap pockets on both sides of the chest and side pockets, making it a simple yet very practical model. FIVE BROTHER brings to mind old-school American workwear, and I like how this shirt jacket retains that rugged feel while still being easy to wear with a more mature look.
What I personally like is its exquisite design, somewhere between a shirt and a jacket.
With flap pockets on both chest and a clean silhouette, it has a simple design without unnecessary embellishments. Thanks to the substantial melton fabric, though, it makes a strong impression even on its own.
Shirt jackets like this have less of a workwear feel than coveralls and are less formal than tailored jackets. I think their appeal lies in how easily they fit into everyday outfits.
Personally, I recommend pairing it with faded denim or wide chinos for a slightly relaxed look. A sweatshirt or turtleneck works well underneath, or you could create a slightly dressier look with wool trousers.
