BUZZ RICKSON'S BR12247 COAT, MAN'S COMBAT TROPICAL

We have just received the BUZZ RICKSON'S (Toyo Enterprise) BR12247 Combat Tropical Jacket.

Toyo Enterprise boasts the longest history of any Japanese apparel manufacturer since its founding in 1965.
BUZZ RICKSON'S is the military line from Toyo Enterprise.

Commonly known as the "Jungle Fatigue," its official name is the "Tropical Combat Uniform," a field uniform for tropical climates adopted and issued during the Vietnam War.
The material used is lightweight and quick-drying cotton poplin, designed with tropical climates in mind.
The design is an improvement on the parachute coat from World War II, and it is generally classified into three types: early, mid, and late models.
The most significant feature of the early model (first model) is the buttons exposed on the pocket flaps.
Since most of the fighting in Vietnam took place in the jungle, the exposed buttons would often get caught on branches or equipment, so the second model was improved with a hidden button design to prevent them from being exposed outside the flaps.
Furthermore, the third model omitted the epaulets, waist adjustment tabs, and the placket flap.
Additionally, the material of the late model was changed from cotton poplin to ripstop fabric.
