About the Brand and Product
BUZZ RICKSON'S Buzz Rickson's BR15345 Type N-1 Khaki “NAVY DEPARTMENT DEMOTEX-ED”
BUZZ RICKSON'S is a brand founded in 1993 that pursues the history and pride of flight jackets.
The reproduction is based on the MIL SPEC of the time, the standards established to withstand the harsh conditions of military use. Meticulous attention was paid to everything from spinning and weaving the yarn to the fabric materials, military components used throughout, and the overall silhouette, with craftsmanship infused into every jacket to recreate the appeal of vintage flight jackets.

The N-1 deck jacket was adopted, together with trousers made from the same material, for U.S. Navy shipboard personnel from World War II through the Korean War. As with other deck jackets, the outer material is cotton grosgrain commonly called “jungle cloth,” while the lining uses alpaca mohair and wool pile, which provide excellent wind resistance and insulation. The N-1 navy blue model was adopted in 1944, and the khaki model was issued the following year, in 1945. The changes were not limited to the color: notable differences include the omission of the alpaca mohair sewn inside the cuffs, simplified loops at the lining underarms and hem drawcord sections, larger eyelets at the hem drawcord sections, and different underarm eyelet positioning.
A word from the staff
Ichimura / 175 cm / 75 kg / Wearing size 40

There are many iconic military jackets, but personally, this N-1 is one of my absolute favorites.
It has a rugged, masculine feel, yet a simple design without unnecessary decoration. I believe there is a reason it has continued to be appreciated unchanged for decades, regardless of trends.
And above all, Buzz Rickson's N-1 is superbly made.
The tightly woven jungle cloth and highly insulating alpaca lining convey its reassuring quality the moment you pick it up.
Personally, I like the classic combination of faded denim, a sweatshirt, and work boots. Of course, it also pairs perfectly with military trousers or chinos, and I think it looks great simply thrown on without overthinking it.
I am 175 cm tall and weigh 75 kg, and I am wearing size 40. It has a comfortable amount of room, and considering that I might wear a sweatshirt or knit underneath, this is the fit I personally prefer.
And I think the true appeal of a jacket like this comes after wearing it for many years.
The fabric develops character, gradually molds to your body, and takes on a look all its own. It looks great when brand new, of course, but five or ten years from now, it should have an even better feel.
It will make you look forward to winter every year.
This is a jacket I highly recommend to anyone looking for one like it.
