About the brand and product

BUZZ RICKSON'S Buzz Rickson's BR90259 Type C-2 “BUZZ RICKSON MFG. CO.” Olive
BUZZ RICKSON'S is a brand founded in 1993 that pursues the history and pride of flight jackets.
Its reproduction is based on the MIL SPEC of the time (standards established to withstand the harsh conditions of military use). Meticulous attention is paid to every detail, from spinning the yarn and weaving the fabric to the material, military-spec components, and overall form, with craftsmanship invested in each garment to recreate the appeal of vintage flight jackets.

The Type C-2 was adopted by the U.S. Army Air Forces in the early 1940s for airmen. Although it was a sweater with sleeves, it was classified at the time as a “vest,” and the specification sheet described it as “a wool-knit garment with sleeves.” To cope with changing temperatures, the military developed this versatile sweater to be layered under a flight jacket while retaining warmth. Since the C-2 was intended to be worn as an inner layer under the A-2 flight jacket, it has a slim silhouette. Although the A-2 was developed as a summer flight jacket, when worn with the C-2 during the severely cold winter months, this excellent sweater provides outstanding protection against the cold.
A word from our staff
Ichimura / 175 cm / 75 kg / Wearing size 44

Since it was originally designed with a slim silhouette, size 44 gives me my usual fit.
At first glance, it is a simple zip-up knit, but once you learn its background, it becomes even more appealing.
The C-2 sweater was originally worn by the U.S. Army Air Forces in the 1940s as an inner layer under flight jackets.
It was made to protect airmen in harsh, cold environments, yet even when worn today, it doesn't feel dated at all.
Personally, I love this unadorned design, born from the pursuit of functionality.
And what I particularly like about this C-2 is that it is genuinely easy to wear as everyday clothing, rather than merely being a reproduction of military wear.
For example, simply throw it on over a white T-shirt and pair it with faded denim or chinos. That alone looks great, and on slightly chilly days, it also works well layered over a shirt.
Zip it up for a clean-looking sweater, or leave it open and wear it much like a cardigan. I think this versatility in styling is another part of its appeal.
Of course, it also pairs exceptionally well as the inner layer under its intended companion, a flight jacket. It looks great worn under rugged outerwear such as an A-2 or N-1.
I am 175 cm tall, weigh 75 kg, and wear size 44.
Since it was originally designed to be worn in layers and has a relatively streamlined cut, I chose a size that allows a little extra room this time. I think it has a balance that is easy to incorporate into everyday casual styles.
What's more, a high-quality wool knit like this is something you want to care for properly and enjoy for a long time.
It isn't a garment designed to chase trends, and it offers the reassurance that you can continue wearing it unchanged for years to come.
It isn't flashy, but you can appreciate its quality every time you wear it.
Clothes like this are the kind that quietly become indispensable in your wardrobe before you know it.
This is a piece I highly recommend not only to those who love military wear, but also to anyone looking for a simple knit they can enjoy for years.
