Based on the concept of "the way clothing should be for the people close to us," every step from weaving to sewing is carried out by skilled artisans in small factories in the Bishu region. At a time when the aging of artisans threatens the decline of the textile industry, they work alongside young craftspeople to pass on these skills and create products that will endure for generations. They also aim to create products that enrich the hearts of everyone involved, from making the items to purchasing them.

This jacket is made using holk's original wool material produced in Bishu. The finished garment undergoes a fulling process, achieving exceptional comfort through softness and lightness that are impossible to imagine from its appearance.

Fulling is a process in which moisture, heat, and pressure are applied to wool fabric to entangle the fibers and intentionally shrink and compact the weave. The resulting higher density helps block cold air and provides excellent insulation. It also creates a soft, lofty thickness and elasticity, resulting in a warm, rich texture.

The silhouette is a boxy shape with a generous width.

When I come across a garment like this, I am reminded that you really cannot understand the quality of good clothing until you actually try it on.

It looks like a very simple jacket, but once you try it on, that impression changes completely.

The first thing that surprises you is how light and soft it is - almost impossible to believe it is wool. While the substantial fabric has a strong presence, it feels natural and enveloping against the body, almost like throwing on a favorite cardigan.

And above all, the silhouette when worn is outstanding.

Despite its generous width, it never looks overly large. The fabric falls naturally, creating an exquisite balance between a relaxed feel and an air of refinement.

Personally, I would like to casually pair it with my usual casual trousers, such as faded denim or military pants. For the inner layer, shirts and knitwear work well, of course, but I think it looks great even with just a simple cut-and-sew top.

I am 175 cm tall and weigh 75 kg, and I am wearing size 3. It has a roomy fit, but I like how the beautiful drape of the fabric creates a natural silhouette when worn.
