YOUSED Remake Leather Bomber Jacket (MA1) Black

We take apart vintage Italian leather, oiled jackets, workwear, Harris Tweed, and other garments to create one-of-a-kind leather pieces and outerwear, rebuilt from the pattern up.

 The harmony created by bringing together “aging” and “the present” wraps the wearer in the unique strength of vintage and a refined sense of playfulness. By bringing materials that remain fresh and timeless even after many years into modern patterns, YOUSED adds new “color” to your everyday life.

A distinctive YOUSED leather jacket, made by carefully taking apart vintage European leather jackets in good condition and combining their panels into a new design. Combining leathers with different character creates a truly one-of-a-kind look. The leather’s marks, creases, and variations in color are preserved, along with the character it has developed over many years.

Inspired by the U.S. military’s MA-1 flight jacket, this piece has been reimagined from the pattern up using vintage leather. It keeps the generous room through the body and armholes, while changing the silhouette with a slightly longer length than the original, which is too short for many.
The leather is lightweight, soft lamb leather sourced from vintage clothing in Europe. The cuffs and hem are ribbed in a wool and acrylic blend that develops more character with wear, and the zippers and other components are made by YKK.
The jacket also has a quilted lining, making it highly insulating and giving it a level of craftsmanship that goes beyond what you’d expect from a remake. This is a standout piece from yoused that’s sure to serve you well for years to come.

YOUSED’s remade leather collection is something I personally look forward to every season.

Vintage leather is taken apart and transformed into a completely new garment. What makes it so interesting is that it’s not simply remade: it retains the character of vintage leather while being finished in a silhouette that feels right today.

This Leather Bomber Jacket is based on the iconic MA-1 flight jacket worn by the U.S. military.

What I especially like is its slightly rounded silhouette.

There’s plenty of room through the body and armholes, while the length is set a little longer than the original MA-1, so it has a really balanced fit when worn.

Above all, the lamb leather used here has a wonderful look and feel.

The leather comes from vintage European clothing, so it’s already soft and broken in, with the creases and character you only get from leather that’s been worn for years.

It’s nice to break in a new leather jacket from scratch, but one of the great things about remade pieces is getting to enjoy leather that already has plenty of character.

What’s more, it has a quilted lining, so it works well not just for its looks but as a winter jacket, too.

Personally, I’d wear it with faded denim or wide-leg military pants for a slightly rugged look.

I think it looks great worn casually over a sweatshirt or flannel shirt, without trying to make the outfit look too polished.

I’m 175 cm tall and 75 kg, and I’m wearing size 2.

I also personally love how the leather has a different look and feel in every remade piece.

Even within the same model, no two are exactly alike, and each has its own unique character.
