WORKERS Band Collar Shirt,

WORKERS is an Okayama-based menswear manufacturer. The brand creates clothing rooted in workwear, trad, and military styles, through thorough research into vintage garments. The founder personally studies authentic vintage pieces, visiting the original manufacturers and existing buildings from the era to conduct extensive research, which is then channeled into meticulously crafted patterns designed for modern, comfortable wear.

A semi-standard band collar shirt from WORKERS.

The design is based on what is likely a British military band collar shirt. While the original length exceeded 80cm, WORKERS has adjusted it to approximately 76cm. It is a "modified" length that WORKERS believes works well whether worn tucked in or left out.

We have added a little extra room in the sleeves and elbows. This "sleeve room" is just as important as the room in the body to ensure the shirt doesn't feel tight when you move. It also makes the sleeves easier to roll up.

The front features a rounded, overlapping line, a detail found in old shirts that were sometimes said to serve as undergarments. (Though, they wouldn't be very hygienic as undergarments...) Today, this detail adds a classic touch.

While we have often used 3-ounce class lightweight shirt fabrics like hakeme, poplin, and madras in the past, this version is made with a basic 5-ounce oxford cloth. While 3-ounce fabrics can be a bit cold in mid-winter, 5-ounce fabrics are suitable for year-round wear. Chambray is also typically around 5 ounces. From spring to autumn, you can wear it open as an outer layer. In winter, try pairing it with a sweater; the lack of a collar means it sits perfectly under a crewneck.

It has a moderately relaxed fit through the body, but the length is finished slightly shorter, making it versatile enough to be worn tucked in or left out.

It is a highly practical model that can be used all year round, regardless of the season, so I highly recommend adding it to your wardrobe.
