WORKERS 7 Button BD, Stripe OX, Yellow
WORKERS is a menswear manufacturer based in Okayama. The brand crafts its clothing based on a thorough exploration of vintage wear, with a focus on workwear, traditional styles, and military gear. The representative personally studies authentic vintage pieces, visiting original manufacturers and existing buildings to research archival materials, then incorporates these findings into precise pattern-making to create garments that are easy to wear in the modern era.
Last year, we created a shirt inspired by a vintage 6-button button-down, but this year we have made it a 7-button version. While some say that the 6-button style is best because it matches vintage pieces, others prefer the usual 7-button Modified model because it prevents the T-shirt underneath from showing too much. Given the mixed feedback, we opted for a 7-button design this year, using the same neck balance as our Modified BD. However, there are some differences from the Modified model.
The body length is slightly longer. While the Modified is 75-76 cm, the 7-button is 78-79 cm. Those who prefer tucking in their shirts have mentioned that this length is ideal. Because the length is longer, the hem curves up toward the sides at a steeper angle, which is characteristic of the atmosphere found in vintage button-downs. Wearing it untucked is also quite stylish in its own way.
The sleeves are wider and taper toward the cuffs.
While the Modified model features pleats at the cuff, the 7-button version uses shirring.
The button position on the cuff is placed very close to the sleeve opening.
The buttons are one size smaller than the ones used on the Modified; since this size is not available as an off-the-shelf product in Japan, we had them custom-made. Each of these changes is minor, but the overall atmosphere is quite classic. Just the wider sleeves make it feel more comfortable to wear. Curiously, although the collar stand is the same for the Modified, last year’s 6-button, and this year’s 7-button, the latter two feel a bit roomier around the neck. The products are delivered in an NW (non-washed) state. As long as you do not put them in the dryer, the dimensions will barely shrink.

This is this season's model of the button-down shirt that we continue to produce as a staple. While it is updated bit by bit every year according to a theme, it remains a model that is easy to wear and has many fans. This season's model is, as expected, very good.
The unique colors and patterns are also wonderful. Please make sure to get your hands on one.
