About the Brand and Product

WAREHOUSE 2249 1910’S BIG BOB CHORE JACKET Indigo

Since its founding in 1995, WAREHOUSE has pursued the theme of faithful reproduction of vintage clothing. We examine the historical background of the vintage garments we encounter, and through thorough research, we reproduce them from the thread and fabric to the stitching and washing process.
WAREHOUSE clothing is not about a "designer brand."
Just as the designers' names were not left on the workwear and daily wear of that era, we believe that the charm of these clothes lies in the anonymity of their creators.

 

A chore jacket from the "Big Bob" brand, believed to date back to the 1900s–1910s, manufactured by Elkus. It uses no chain stitching; everything is sewn with single-needle construction. With its asymmetrical pockets and sleeves featuring deep, sweeping curves, this garment represents an era that demanded high-level craftsmanship.

Originally, it was manufactured by Neustadter Brothers in San Francisco, known for their "Boss of the Road" brand, on behalf of Elkus, the owners of the "Big Bob" brand.

I am wearing a size 40 (unwashed).

Considering the shrinkage, size 40 is a perfect fit, while 42 would provide a bit more room.

 

This new release is a chore jacket that looks simple, having been entirely single-stitched in the old style, but it actually required a great deal of effort to produce.

The simple yet somewhat refined finish typical of this era feels very sophisticated and is easy to wear, so I highly recommend it.

 

I have been looking forward to this new chore jacket, and I am very excited to see how it ages and fades with wear. I hope you will wear it for many years and nurture it into your own unique jacket.
