The brand name "melple" is a coined term derived from "mellow people."
It refers to people who live a rich, mellow, and relaxed lifestyle, much like the atmosphere of California.
Inspired by this culture, we propose a "Modern Vintage Style" that reflects these influences in our craftsmanship.
Rather than simply recreating archives from the past, we offer styles and interpretations that are uniquely "melple" in response to ever-changing cultures.
We hope you enjoy the relaxed, distinctly "melple" vibe.

 

 

This garment features ringer-style cuffs and hem, giving it a feel that sits somewhere between a long-sleeve tee and a sweatshirt.
It is the latest addition to our "The American" series, reconstructed with the image of heavyweight T-shirts made in the USA in the 80s and early 90s.
The relaxed fit gives it a strong presence even when worn on its own.
The fabric uses ultra-thick (10 count) open-end yarn to replicate the unique, coarse texture of American-made T-shirts from that era.
Typically knit at 18 gauge, this fabric is instead knit at 22 gauge to create a high-density jersey with a reliable sense of firmness and resilience.
Features a washable leather "The American" patch on the back.
Includes a small triangular brand tag on the left hem.

I am wearing size L, which gives me a nicely relaxed fit.

 

The silhouette is fantastic and looks great on its own, and it's perfect as an inner layer under jackets during the autumn and winter seasons. It’s a piece I find myself reaching for year-round, except during the height of summer, and I consider it one of melple's true masterpieces from the last few years.
