Based in Akishima, Tokyo, "ParrMark Craft Works" is a project focused on local production for local consumption, led by an illustrator and woodworker with a deep knowledge of vintage items. A "parr mark" refers to the oval-shaped markings found on the sides of juvenile salmonid fish.

"It's a Parallel World."
Flying whales, elegantly swimming trout, fluttering ducks, and giant salamanders relaxing at their leisure—it is a mysterious world where creatures of the sea and rivers gather.
We have illustrated this "parallel world" that represents what goes on inside the head of ParrMark.

Tenugui towels often have a strong traditional Japanese vibe, almost too casual. I wanted to take this a step further toward something truly gorgeous or dressy, drawing with the image of an American-culture enthusiast taking on a European VINTAGE design style.
