About the brand and product

Mr.OLDMAN × redad Mr.OLDMAN × redad Bandana Patchwork Coverall Black Over Dye

Mr.OLDMAN × redad Mr.OLDMAN × redad Bandana Patchwork Coverall Black Over Dye

The brand “redad” was newly founded by two people of the same generation who know remake and vintage clothing inside out and have spent many years working in the field.
From sourcing and product planning through pattern making, we draw on our experience and expertise to create pieces that reflect the mood of the moment.

A vintage work shirt is used as the base, then individually patched with bandanas that vary widely in condition, age, pattern, and color.
Each piece is painstakingly assembled by hand, with careful consideration given to the size and pattern of each bandana and how the colors work together.
When joining the pieces, the seams are deliberately placed on the outside of the garment, making the fraying part of the design.
There are no seams on the inside, so it’s completely comfortable to wear.
The fabric is layered two or three times, resulting in a high-quality finish with substantial thickness.

It has a coverall-style silhouette with a comfortable amount of room and a simple design featuring three front pockets and 13-star buttons. The body is roomy, while the body and sleeves aren’t especially long, so the free size should suit almost everyone in balanced proportions. The sleeves can also be turned up, making it a great look on women, too.
The lack of pocket flaps gives it a clean look and makes it easy to incorporate into a variety of outfits.
The jacket is also dyed black after construction, bringing the different bandana colors together for a deeper, richer finish.
We’ve created an exceptional jacket that brings together redad’s distinctive craftsmanship, outstanding sense of style, and the immense amount of work required to make it.
Be sure to get this outstanding model, which could be called the culmination of Mr.OLDMAN’s 2026 collection.

STAFF VOICE

A word from our staff

Ichimura / 175 cm / 75 kg / Wearing the free size

This jacket is a piece I’m especially attached to.

After many years in the clothing business, you find yourself thinking about all kinds of things you’d like to see or make. This exclusive collaboration with redad has resulted in a jacket that gives shape to exactly those kinds of ideas.

A patchwork made by joining bandanas from different eras and with varied patterns, one by one, onto a vintage work shirt base.

It’s already appealing as it is, but this time we’ve also overdyed the finished jacket entirely in black.

My favorite thing about it is this unique color.

The bandanas originally varied in color and pattern, but black dye gives them a surprising sense of unity while preserving the distinct patterns and shades of each piece.

It has a wonderful depth of character that sets it apart from a solid black jacket.

Look closely, and you’ll notice the layers of fabric and deliberately exposed frayed seams - details that make handmade work so interesting.

I think this slightly uneven look is one of the great appeals of vintage and remade clothing.

And despite being such a statement jacket, it’s surprisingly easy to style once you put it on.

Since it’s based around black, it looks great thrown over faded denim or military pants. Personally, I also recommend a simple outfit with a plain T-shirt and wide chinos.

Even without putting much thought into your inner layer or pants, this jacket alone gives your outfit plenty of character.

I’m 175 cm, 75 kg, and wearing the free size.

There’s plenty of room through the body, but the length and sleeves aren’t too long, so the overall proportions look great. You can layer a sweatshirt or knit underneath, so I think you’ll enjoy it for much of the year.

And with garments like this, it’s fun to see how they change with wear.

Wear it again and again, wash it, and the fabric will gradually soften and settle in. I imagine the patchwork will develop an expression quite different from how it looks now, too.

Honestly, making a garment that takes this much work is no easy task.

But that’s also why it feels so rewarding when it’s finished, and we’re truly happy to be able to introduce clothes like this in our store.

A piece that captures the makers’ skill and sensibility, as well as the warmth of handmade work - something you don’t find in mass-produced clothing.

We believe we’ve created a special jacket that truly embodies Mr.OLDMAN in 2026.

We especially encourage those who love clothing to come see it in person.
