Mr.OLDMAN  Deer Leather Clasp Purse Wallet  Produced in Mount Akagi

A brand independently developed by Mr.OLDMAN, which was established in 2009.
Leveraging the knowledge and experience we have cultivated, we create items that we ourselves truly want to own.

"Mount Akagi" is a place familiar to us and our customers, and it is even featured in the Jomo Karuta (a famous card game representing Gunma Prefecture).
It is one of the mountains that represents Gunma and is an indispensable part of our landscape.
The inspiration for creating this wallet came when we heard that the damage caused by deer overgrazing on Mount Akagi had become a serious issue.
Various trees and flowers, such as Japanese primrose, mountain lily, daylily, and beech trees, are being damaged as they are eaten by deer.
While measures such as installing protective nets around trees and culling are being implemented, the high reproductive rate of the deer has prevented a resolution.

Furthermore, we learned that most of the culled deer are discarded with no practical use.
While some appear to be used as game meat (gibier), the vast majority is simply thrown away.
We thought that by using Mount Akagi's deer leather here at Mr.OLDMAN, we might be able to help create at least some demand for it.

After consulting with many people, we were able to secure a supply of deer leather from Mount Akagi, harvested via trap hunting, which results in fewer scars on the hides.
The leather itself is thick and of very high quality, with the characteristic softness of deer skin that we can recommend with confidence.

Unlike typical clasp pouches, we have designed this with extra height to accommodate credit cards and driver's licenses.
Since it fits a small amount of cash, cards, and a license, it can be used as a mini wallet.
It is also highly recommended as a case for carrying items like medication, lip balm, or eye drops.

I decided to produce this mini clasp wallet after learning about the damage caused by deer overgrazing on Mount Akagi, which represents our local region of Gunma.
We exclusively use deer harvested via trap hunting from Mount Akagi.
Our hope was to create at least some demand for these deer that are otherwise discarded.

The quality of the leather is excellent, and we have managed to create a wallet with a very high level of perfection.
