The conceptual theme of jacou is "aestheticism and preference," placing the highest value on "beauty" above all else.
This is by no means a regression to the past; what we seek is "true beauty" for the era to come.
We like to believe that it exists in simplicity, and is born from being straightforward.
We want you to experience that forgotten "sense of exhilaration when holding something beautiful." That is the sentiment from which we began.

jacou products are born from the accumulation of attention to detail.
Rather than being design-conscious, it is the pursuit of every single detail that becomes the design.
It is in every stitch of thread and every stroke of the file. Before being a designer, I want to be a craftsman.

"Everything is repeated naturally"
Everything is born from the hands of one person: Kazuyoshi Tauchi.
From the cutting of the leather to the moment the final package string is tied, the work is repeated day after day without sparing any effort.
Ironically, despite the manual process, the finish is as precise and uniform as if made by a machine.
Its origin lies in the experience accumulated from bespoke shoemaking.
"Piano, piano" (slowly, slowly) was my mentor’s catchphrase.
Like a steady rhythm, those words are followed today as we continue to craft items using methods unchanged for 100 years.

"Materials that captivate for a long time"
One of the charms of leather goods is aging. Both people and objects change with the passage of time.
Whether you perceive that as deterioration or growth depends on the essence of the object. There are many types and qualities of leather, each with its own way of changing.
The leather jacou uses is vegetable-tanned leather made using the historic Vacchetta process.
Among these, we carefully select leathers that have not been overly processed, preserving their natural quality.
A natural texture and feel—that is what jacou considers to be "leather with the true thrill of being leather."

A compact wallet perfect for carrying small amounts of cash and cards.
Features one coin compartment that opens wide.
One card slot.
One compartment for four-folded bills (can also hold cards instead).
Instead of a common flap closure, we have finished it with a unique structure for a sleek design.
Also ideal for use as a coin case alongside a money clip.
The civet logo is gold-foil stamped on the back of the body, and the cursive logo is gold-foil stamped inside.
The hardware is an Italian brass snap fastener. The cast parts (the stud) provide a sense of luxury.
This leather, with its highly natural texture, allows you to enjoy the aging process as it develops a deeper luster and richer hue the more you use it.

It uses vegetable-tanned leather made by the Vacchetta process, allowing you to enjoy beautiful aging.
Every item is finished by hand by a single craftsman.
Unlike the ruggedness of typical hand-stitched products, these have an incredibly beautiful finish, sewn accurately and uniformly with fine-gauge thread.
