"Aesthetics and Personal Taste" jacou’s concept theme is "aesthetics and personal taste," placing the highest value on "beauty" above all else. This is by no means a step backward; what we pursue is "true beauty" for the era ahead. We want to believe that it exists in simplicity, and is born from being straightforward. We want you to experience that often-forgotten "sense of exhilaration when holding something beautiful." That is the sentiment from which we began.
"Accumulation of Meticulous Craftsmanship" jacou products are born from the accumulation of attention to detail. Rather than being design-conscious, it is the pursuit of every single detail that becomes the design. It is in every stitch of thread and every stroke of the file. Before being a designer, I want to be a craftsman.
"Everything is Repeated Naturally" Everything is born from the hands of one person: Kazuyoshi Tauchi. From cutting the leather to the final moment of tying the string on the package, the laborious process is simply repeated day after day. Ironically, like a machine, the result is precise and uniform. Its origin lies in nothing other than the experience accumulated from bespoke shoemaking. "Piano, piano" (slowly, slowly) was my mentor’s favorite phrase. Like a steady rhythm, that philosophy is used to craft items today, just as it was 100 years ago.
"Materials That Enchant Over Time" One of the charms of leather products is aging. Both people and objects change with the passage of time. Whether you perceive that as degradation or growth depends on the essence of the object itself. There are many types and qualities of leather, and their changes vary accordingly. The leather used by jacou is vegetable-tanned leather made using the historic Vacchetta process. Among these, we carefully select leathers that have not been overly processed, preserving the natural qualities of the hide. The natural touch and texture are what jacou considers to be "leather with the true essence of leather."

Includes a civet cat logo on the back, a script logo in the inner card slot, and gold foil stamping in various locations. The hardware consists of Italian-made brass snaps. The cast parts (male) provide a sense of luxury. This leather, with its natural feel, allows you to enjoy the aging process as it develops a richer luster and deeper hue with use.

A clean and beautiful leather item. Made from vegetable-tanned leather using the Vacchetta process, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful aging process. Every item is finished by hand by a single craftsman. Unlike the ruggedness of typical hand-sewn products, these are finished incredibly beautifully, stitched precisely and uniformly with fine thread.
