“Bark outsiders” is a brand created by outsiders who love authentic, vintage, and traditional items, for fellow outsiders who want to be selective about every single item they choose.

To live freely and lightly, we only need a few minimal, simple, and essential things. We propose items that combine the essential materials and craftsmanship rooted in Japanese manufacturing with the atmosphere of authentic goods. We aim to suggest universal items that, much like vintage pieces, "enrich the heart" and become "cherished, long-lasting companions, even if they are slightly inconvenient."

Having worked in the fashion industry, there were many times I couldn’t find the specific items I wanted to fit my personal style. That is why I started this brand with the mindset of making essential tools rather than just fashion. Furthermore, as the number of Japanese materials and factories with high technical skills continues to decline year by year, I place great importance on creating products that respect their craftsmanship. It would give me the greatest joy if you could experience the attention to detail that resides in these items when you hold them in your hands.

【BLUE LINES TOTE 80's】 "A utilitarian tote infused with the spirit of the 1980s." This product recreates the unique atmosphere of 80's canvas totes by leveraging Japanese production backgrounds.
Such vintage totes emit a charm unique to that era, created by the interplay of narrow short handles, blue side lines, and a body shape that is slightly taller than current models.

I realized that authentic vintage totes were becoming harder to buy each year, so I decided to make them in Japan. I had the fabric custom-woven by a long-established canvas manufacturer and thoroughly recreated the specific vintage tote I own.
To achieve the final product, I deconstructed an original canvas tote down to its individual threads to study how it was made. While I couldn't perfectly replicate the stiffness of that original fabric, I was able to match the number of plied yarns and come very close.

This is an all-made-in-Japan product created with my perspective as someone who loves vintage and is well-versed in denim apparel!
