FERNAND LEATHER began in the 1980s when Steve Fernand started the workshop that is now known as "FERNAND LEATHER," originally producing Aurora Shoes in New York. Today, they no longer produce Aurora Shoes and operate exclusively under the "FERNAND LEATHER" brand. Every piece is handmade by skilled artisans in their Michigan workshop.
Steve Fernand’s designs, simple and natural, are created with the expectation of how they will age through use. Committed to craftsmanship, he uses high-quality materials and finishes every piece with care. The warmth unique to handmade items, the character of the leather, the distinctive cutting, and the sturdy stitching ensure that the product becomes more cherished the more it is used, allowing you to enjoy how it ages over time.
Completely free of excess, the design is extremely simple and natural, which is why it blends so seamlessly into any style.

Furthermore, because everything is handmade, production volume is limited, meaning the brand is not sold wholesale anywhere in the United States; it can only be purchased at the shop attached to their Michigan workshop. Despite this, it remains so popular that fans from all over the U.S. travel there to place orders for Steve Fernand's work.
