FERNAND LEATHER was established in the 1980s by Steve Fernand, starting as a workshop to produce Aurora Shoes in New York. Today, it no longer produces Aurora Shoes and operates solely as the "FERNAND LEATHER" brand. Every piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans in their Michigan workshop.
Steve Fernand’s simple and natural designs are created with the intention of how they will look once they are well-worn. With a commitment to handmade quality, each item is carefully crafted using fine materials. The warmth unique to handmade items, the character of the leather, the distinct cutting, and the sturdy stitching only grow more endearing with time, allowing you to enjoy the aging process of the leather.
Utterly free of anything superfluous, the design is extremely simple and natural. That is why it blends seamlessly into any style.

Furthermore, because everything is handmade, production capacity is limited, and they do not wholesale in the United States; they are only available for purchase at the store attached to the Michigan workshop. Despite this, it remains so popular that fans from all over the U.S. travel there to place orders for Steve Fernand’s creations.
