La Cuoieria was founded in 1981 in the town of Castanea in Messina, Sicily, located in the Mediterranean Sea.
By utilizing traditional manufacturing techniques such as the old hand-stitched "Passi" method used in historic Sicilian saddlery, and using Vacchetta leather, which has been passed down in Tuscany since ancient times. This Vacchetta leather is tanned using age-old processes with natural essences from various trees and barks.
With a commitment to materials and a respect for and knowledge of traditional manufacturing processes, La Cuoieria creates new designs for the world. These Italian-made leather goods, carefully finished one by one by craftsmen who preserve tradition, are items that convey a warm, handmade touch and the essence of Italy.
