BUZZ RICKSON'S is a brand established in 1993 that pursues the history and pride of flight jackets.
Their reproduction process is based on the MIL SPEC (standards set to withstand the harsh environments of military use) of the time. From the spinning and weaving of threads to the fabric materials, individual military parts, and overall silhouette, they are uncompromising in their dedication, infusing craftsmanship into every single piece to recreate the appeal of vintage flight jackets.
Mitchell pattern camouflage fabric was officially adopted under military specifications for its camouflage effect on items such as tents and helmet covers, but as the Vietnam War began, jackets and trousers started to be produced as locally-made items. Because they were locally produced, these items are rare, and several variations exist. Like the Frogskin camouflage adopted during WWII, it features a double-sided print for jungle and desert specifications. The material uses heavy-weight satin, with the jungle side utilizing the reverse of the satin fabric.
The "Jungle Fatigue" trousers, commonly known as the field uniform for tropical regions adopted and issued during the Vietnam War, followed the same evolution as the jackets. From the second model onwards, the exposed buttons of the first model were changed to concealed buttons, and the straps used to secure items in the cargo pockets were discontinued. Furthermore, the waist adjustment tabs were changed from button-type to metal buckle-type, and the material was switched to ripstop fabric.
