WORKERS Open Collar Shirt, Cotton Wool Flannel, Check

WORKERS is a menswear manufacturer based in Okayama. The brand crafts garments centered on workwear, trad, and military styles, born from a thorough investigation of vintage clothing. The representative himself studies actual vintage pieces, visits the original manufacturers and historical buildings where they were created, and researches archives to develop these into pieces that are easy to wear in the modern day through precise pattern work.

I've made long-sleeve open-collar shirts for fall and winter a few times in the past, but I felt I hadn't quite mastered them yet. So, I decided to give it another try.
First, the shape and the pattern. Previously, I had gotten a bit too elaborate, with side slits and different lengths for the front and back. This time, I prioritized ease of wear and made the hem straight.
For the silhouette, the body width for a size 15 is about 57 cm. The shoulder width is 48 cm—not too dropped, not too narrow. The sleeves are a little fuller to ensure they don't feel restrictive.
For the buttonholes, only the top one is horizontal, while the others are vertical.
To make it wearable even with the top button closed, the neck circumference is slightly larger than my previous open-collar designs.
Adjusting patterns is all about balancing the overall look, so it’s very understated work. But I "expect" that the measurements, specifications, and silhouette will make it feel "just right" when you put it on.

Material: 90% cotton, 10% wool flannel.
I debated using this fabric because it is expensive, but the small amount of wool adds a unique "fluffy" feel. Still, since there is so little wool, there is almost no scratchiness. However, for those who are still worried, please pair it with our PLY Off Turtle. Since your neck won't touch the shirt collar directly, you definitely won't feel any itchiness.
Because the open-collar shirt can also be worn as outerwear, you can wear it for a very long season. The product has been one-washed and sun-dried. I recommend avoiding tumble drying, as it damages the fabric and causes shrinkage.
