I've loved flannel shirts for years and own several, but whenever I see a slightly unusual piece like this, I can't help wanting one.
What I like most is the exquisite balance, right between a shirt and a jacket.
The substantial flannel fabric and relaxed boxy silhouette give it a feel that's a little different from an ordinary flannel shirt. It's more than cool enough to simply throw on as a light layer.
And the feel of this ombré check is truly excellent. It has a strong presence without being too flashy, giving it a calm, mature character.
Personally, I'd pair it with faded denim or military pants and keep the inner layer simple with a plain T-shirt. When it gets a little colder, you can layer it over a sweatshirt or hoodie, so I expect it to get plenty of wear from fall through early spring.
I'm 175 cm and 75 kg, and I'm wearing size L. It has a comfortable amount of room, and the fit is easy to wear both as a shirt and as a lightweight jacket - exactly the kind of fit I like.
I think clothes like this are less something you wear on special occasions and more something you casually reach for in everyday life.
It's easy to wear, easy to pair, and still genuinely cool.
