Japanese selvedge denim is in short supply.

Hello everyone, good morning and good evening, this is Ichimura from Mr. OLDMAN.
The other day, Nakahara-san from Osaka-based Nasngwam and Ichikawa-san from imprestore, with whom we recently started doing business, stopped by the shop to hang out—or was it for business?
Our partnership started by chance, but I’ve actually been aware of their brands for over a decade.
I had always admired them, but without any opportunity to cross paths, time simply slipped by—yet once we finally met, we started doing business in an instant.
We’ve been running our shops for about the same amount of time, and we hit it off immediately thanks to many shared points of view, and things just fell into place.
It’s already very popular at the shop, and I’m sure many of our customers will love it as well.
We’ll be kicking off things with imprestore in earnest starting this month, so please look forward to that too.
This experience reminded me again that who you work with is incredibly important.
To be honest, trends change constantly, so I don’t pay much attention to them.
After being in this business for a long time, you see all sorts of trends, and it’s common for things that were considered "lame" until yesterday to suddenly become "cool."
For me, it really comes down to whether I like it personally, and "who is making it" or "who is behind it," which I find very exciting.
p>Knowing that something is this way because *that person* made it, or feeling like something is very "them"—that’s what I want to cherish while selling clothing.
Ultimately, I love the background and stories behind the garments, and I want to work with people who have good vibes.
Even if things sell well, it doesn't last if you don't get along with the people involved.
That’s why I’m looking forward to a long partnership with the fun folks at Nasngwam and imprestore (haha).

Nakahara-san, Ichikawa-san, let’s go out for drinks next time!
Now, some of you may have noticed that we haven’t received any denim products lately, but Japanese selvedge denim is currently in a state of depletion.
Because the fabric is woven on old power looms, the production efficiency is low, making mass production impossible. On top of that, its high quality has drawn orders for Japanese denim from all over the world.
I suspect the weak yen is also making Japanese denim seem cheaper to the rest of the world.
No matter how much the orders increase, the amount that can actually be produced stays the same.
That’s why it’s become normal for delivery times to be a year out, and some places have even stopped taking orders entirely.
Because of this, brands like Warehouse, Sugar Cane, and Workers are only able to ship once or twice a year now.

FOB factory F2460 WWII DENIM BLOUSE
In the midst of all this, a highly precious Japanese-made denim jacket has arrived from FOB factory.
I can’t remember when it last arrived, but I think it was at least over six months ago.
It sold out in an instant, so I imagine most of you haven't seen it in person.
The 14oz denim fabric, which uses newly developed Cameroonian cotton, is firm yet feels like it has some stretch to it.
The details are based on the wartime model.
It features steel laurel buttons, unbranded copper rivets, and a buckle with a fleur-de-lis motif.
It has a boxy silhouette, and sizes 40 and up feature a T-back style with a seam down the back.

FOB factory really does have an exceptional cut, don't they?
While perfect, faithful reproductions are the specialty of brands like Warehouse and Sugar Cane, brands like FOB and Workers excel at retaining that vintage atmosphere while finishing it in a way that modern adults can wear comfortably.
This jacket has a truly great silhouette, and it’s just fantastic when you put it on.
Actually, we put them out on the floor starting Saturday the 5th, and they sold out in a flash...
However, miraculously, the manufacturer was able to share a few more with us!
We have just a few pieces available, so please make sure to grab one.
It’s precious Japanese denim, so I hope you’ll enjoy the beautiful aging process as you wear it.
Once this batch is gone, there’s no doubt the next one won't be until sometime in 2027... (haha)
Get yours soon!!
