A coach jacket for adults. "One-of-a-kind pieces made from vintage fabric."

A regular customer of mine, K-san, just stopped by and said, "I brought my grandchild!"

 

It seems after their own children left the nest, they've welcomed a new "grandchild" (lol).

 

It's incredibly cute and I'm honestly envious.

 

Animals really have a way of soothing the soul, don't they?

 

K-san, please bring them by again soon.

 

 

Replacing them was our other regular customer, R-san.

 

He was agonizing over the size of a THRIFTY LOOK souvenir jacket.

It turns out we were both wearing the same melple pants, so we tried them on together—it was a bit funny to be wearing the same setup (lol).

Mr.OLDMAN×redad Duck Hunter Camo Coach Jacket

 

 

Now, onto today's main topic.

 

A jacket that will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of this season has been completed ahead of schedule.

 

 

 

Actually, this is a Mr. OLDMAN exclusive coach jacket that we had redad create for us.

 

I've always liked coach jackets, but as I've gotten older, it's become harder to wear those cheap, flimsy nylon ones with prints on them.

 

While I can appreciate the charm of a cheap item, as an adult, I really want to wear something solid and high-quality.

 

 

That's why we asked redad to create this luxurious piece, using original 1960s vintage duck hunter camo fabric.

 

It is a very labor-intensive process: dismantling vintage items from that era, reducing them back to raw fabric, and then reconstructing them into something new.

 

Among the many camouflage patterns that exist, this one—often called duck hunter camo or "frog skin"—is one that I personally love above all others.

 

It is said that the pattern originated in early 20th-century America, developed for duck hunting in waterfront and wetland areas to blend into the natural environment.

 

It makes sense given how frequently hunting brands utilize this pattern.

 

Designed with irregular patterns based on olive and brown tones, it breaks up silhouettes from a distance and allows the wearer to naturally blend into their surroundings at close range.

 

By the 1940s, it was adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps and produced as military gear under the name "Frog Skin Camo."

 

Out of all the various camouflage patterns, I find this one particularly easy to incorporate into fashion, and it's one of my personal favorites.

It's a masterpiece reborn as a single coach jacket, with its unique aesthetic and exceptional skill in stitching together pieces of varying hues, pattern sizes, and fabric conditions.

 

No two are exactly alike; every single one is a one-of-a-kind piece.
